Mathewson Waters Architects, in collaboration with Planning consultant LDPC have achieved planning consent for a new country house within a listed Edwardian walled garden site in Wiltshire. Extensive consultation with the local community was undertaken over a period of 18 months whilst a formal and traditional design for the new house gradually evolved. The consented scheme is for a house of approximately 6,000 sqft, with associated garaging, workshops, storage and greenhouses. The house will use local natural stone and clay tiles as the main facing materials and will incorporate traditional detailing. Green technology will feature strongly in the new house, in terms of both energy-efficiency and power-generation.
