BOATHOUSE SURGERY: MEDICAL PRACTICE

Where: Pangbourne, Berkshire

Bespoke Medical Practice Architecture designed by Berkshire Architects for site in Pangbourne. A Group-practice medical centre with riverside setting and views onto the Thames. New Waiting area and Eight consulting rooms all laid out as to enjoy views over the river.

Due to its riverside location the design had to include precautions for flooding and be future proof towards potential climate change when flooding may become more common. When the site later did flood the scheme successfully tackled the issue with flooding as seen below.

ADVICE FROM OUR ARCHITECTS | COMMON ARCHITECTURAL QUESTIONS

What to do before meeting an architect?

Prepare a brief detailing your requirements and what you wish to achieve from the project. If you are not sure about some aspects, any information will help as your architect will be able to assist you with this once you meet.
Find some examples of the sort of architecture that you like, from the architect’s own website if possible.
If you are considering building an extension, take some photographs of the existing building to show them.
Consider how you might finance the building project and related professional fees.
