A Modern Twist On Cottage Style Architecture

Rear Elevation of new eco-friendly replacement cottage designed to be low maintenance by utilizing aluminium windows, gutters and fascias as well as hard landscaping that had easier upkeep within the external spaces.

Where: Newbury, Berkshire

The Clients of this property wanted to downsize their home without moving out of their village, this scheme was built within the garden of their previous property. The design therefore had to include the features to accommodate them as they got older i.e., lift access, but also had to be designed to complement the existing neighbouring properties for planning to be approved.

A more sustainable, Eco-friendly approach to energy use was also a key aspect for our clients, for a modern, warm and cosy home.

The New three-bedroom home was designed to be low maintenance from utilizing aluminium windows, gutters and fascias to hard landscaping that had easier upkeep within the external spaces. The scheme also includes a covered entertaining space, solar panels and underfloor heating.

“Subsequently featured in The Sunday Times Property Guide, this house is built on sustainable principles, our clients have found it easy and cost-effective to maintain and run.”
